Suggestions For A Happy Retirement
It’s a wonderful time of life: gardening, grand kids and go go go!
Where have you always wanted to go and haven’t been yet? Wherever it is, now is the time. Regardless of who needs you or what might be standing in your way, now is the time. If money is a problem, sit down (like you have all your life) and find it. Almost anyone can figure out how to make a few extra bucks now and then.
Get excited! If it’s not a trip, there is something you want to do. Even if it is something that involves hard work, like renovating your home, there’s something you’ve been dreaming of. Maybe you’d like to sell your home and travel the country in an RV. Do it!
If you have been working outside the home for years and are suddenly faced with retirement look at all the good you can do for yourself and other people. No more cold mornings having to warm the car up and brave the freezing temperatures. Celebrate that!
If you are one of these people that will not be happy unless you are working, don’t worry. There is plenty for you to do. You could even start your own business. If you are financially secure, look at what you could give to those less fortunate by volunteering. As many wonderful and worthy charities and volunteer opportunities as there are, there are other important things closer to home that need our help too. For instance, perhaps you know a single mother who struggles with daycare and babysitters, working and supper. If you could do one thing for her a week, you could make a huge difference in her life. Look around you and see just what needs to be done. Having a happy retirement depends on a happy you!
