Prepare For Retirement

Everything you ever wanted to know about preparing for retirement and more.

Life Is Active In The Arizona Retirement Community

At age 55 most of us are thinking about retirement. It feels like we have worked for the last hundred years and money has been put away for the next step in our lives. Its time to start researching and looking for the right retirement community to eventually settle into. In Arizona the retirement communities are plentiful. Florida and Arizona are the two states which cater to the retirement community and have the most of these communities located in their state.  These two states attract seniors mainly because of the year round pleasant weather. It gets to be a lot of trouble and hard work to shovel and blow snow over the age of 55. Arizona retirement communities are listed by the hundreds. It is a very competitive market and each year more of these communities pop up through out the state.

Active Senior Life

Senior life is very active in the Arizona retirement community. These communities have put ‘style’ back into lifestyle. They have luxurious architecture and beautiful spa inspired clubhouse and pool facilities. There are libraries, movie theaters, computer centers, billiard rooms and fitness rooms with trainers included in the Arizona retirement community. There are craft rooms, card rooms and ballrooms set for concerts, dances and parties. The Arizona retirement communities try to think of every possible amenity that an active senior would enjoy and then incorporate it into their retirement community. Outdoor activities abound as well. If the location allows it, a nature preserve is on the premises. Walking trails and sometimes an amphitheatre will round out the outdoor layout. Many now have tennis courts and golf courses. A golf course in an Arizona retirement community usually will attract the snowbird golfers. In other words, the northerners will start coming down in the winter time to live and play golf and then return back north in the summer. Eventually, these same snowbirds will settle full time in their Arizona retirement community.

Most of these retirement communities will have cultural directors who plan activities and excursions for the residents. Trips to theater productions and concerts are on a weekly basis and there are usually monthly bus trips to Las Vegas in the Arizona retirement communities. Sometimes a dispensary is located on the premises with a full time nurse available for emergencies. Everything in the Arizona retirement community is handicap accessible and geared for the slower pace of life. Retirement communities are pleasant, fun and very inviting to an active senior. It is a great place to enjoy the final “golden” years.
